Well one problem they gained productivity by outsourcing to places with cheaper labour and created a bunch of service jobs.. many which will not be needed ... So maybe they need to work for less... ie.. become less productive or yes shrink.. or both .. either way lower (or at least different) standard of living on the horizon.. Even if they export more.. look @ auto industry losing wage premium.. look @ agriculture.. lost labour intensiveness.. In closed system Kyros proposes Canada does not need many of their exports beyond warm climate foods.. we can build most things ourselves and have lots of raw material.. .. Mexico source of cheap labour ? What will US citizens do for work.. easy to say export... but what... food OK.. Specialized stuff other countries can develop also.. Tough times coming..

They need a new plan stan... even with exports..
