Only president to ever cut taxes during a war. And he ran the war off budget. And as he compared it to WWII where was the gas rationg, saving bonds and victory gardens?

While crass, bush's primary goal as president was to help his rich friends,IMO. very first thing he did was cut over a trillion in tax cuts to 1/10 of 1% of the richest people.

And told people he ws doing it.

No new taxes where needed to pay for it. If Iraq was the only new or additional spending the budget would have been in a surplus through most of Bush's time in office. The lion's share of the increase in spending went to other areas.
