Yes, I was preparing to leave as you typed your message so I didn't get to read it until today. Thank you for your good messages as I'll tell you it was a great fun visit there. I was quite lucky also and hit a major jackpot and a smaller one and came home with it. Enough to more than take care of several more trips when I get to go. My DIL's birthday is the 24th, the Memorial Day weekend, so she wants to go for that. My oldest daughter, Trayce, thinks she will have that weekend off and has an extra day to take because she worked a holiday so can combine that with her usual weekend off. They are just about through with all they did to improve their home and more than ready for some days away from those responsibilities. My son called today to tell me they were hanging kitchen cabinets and said he had been to Home Depot three times to purchase knobs for them and his wife changed her mind twice and he said they must have thought he was crazy for doing so. He had bought the white crystal ones she told him she wanted and she sent him back to get the bronze and when she saw them she sent him back for the crystal ones again. He is such a good mature young man, he just laughed and said she deserves to change her mind after all the flooding they had in their neighborhood and she had gone over to help neighbors who did get flooded instead of staying and working in their home which didn't get water in it. She is also a Gemini and more like a daughter than a DIL. I love her so much and she is the happiest person one could ever be around and such a joy to me. She keeps me laughing so much. I'm glad her daughter is just like her and hope I get to live another five years to see her as a teenager. I think her Dad is going to have his hands more than full then. She has striking blue eyes and is a honey blonde.

They also put in a new dishwasher and I think I told everyone that we lost our bay home on Galveston Bay and decided not to rebuild it and bought her Mother's home she inherited after she passed away. They took the one they had up to the Trinity house last weekend and got it installed so I now have an updated dishwasher which I hope will get lots of use this coming summer. I think I will be again cooking there when they all come for the weekends. She also told me her oldest son is up there shooting snakes this weekend and had already killed four out in the water. Hadn't found any in the yard as they keep moth balls all around the perimeter but have to replace them if they have rain as they melt....learned something I didn't know. I will make sure we have a good supply of them up there from now on....<gg> Will also make sure the grass is cut short so if any do make it in yard, they will end up in small pieces....I hate snakes. If I see them they don't scare me that much unless they start moving my way. I just chop them to death with our hoe. I think they are mostly water moccasins and no one has been bitten there before in all the years they have lived there. The neighbors we have up there have two dogs and we know when they bark they have found something and the owner comes out to check out both his and our yards. They live there full time and have two daughters in college in Texas. Those girls stay in the water for hours canoeing and on floats and have never been confronted with snakes in the water, good for me to hear also. One of the last times I water skied was on the San Jacinto River where my husband's sister had a place and looked over to the side and saw this thing in the water and yelled at my BIL to get me back to shore. Never skied there again it scared me so badly and told everyone I wanted to die in my bed and not by anything biting me in the water. They laughed at me and I told them I was dead serious about that. Then I only skied a couple more times in salt water and no worries there. Decided I was more than too old to be skiing and took up gambling instead....and found that a much more enjoyable experience than water skiing.

My son has started the process of moving and I will have my work cut out for me when he leaves. Still hadn't got his room carpeted after the flood we had as too much to haul out of there and thought that was far too much work to do and better to wait until his belongings are gone.

Didn't get to bowl last Friday and I missed getting the exercise. You're right my bowling ball is almost bigger than I am...<gg> But it gets more pin action than any I have ever had so I just keep on using it. Probably next year if I can still bowl I will go down to a ten or eleven pound.

I have never played the penny machines as they all have been taken but I have stood and watched others play and realized that you really do need to keep tract of your play, otherwise you just might be better off playing the fifty cents or dollar machines. My husband has gotten so conservative in his older years and amuses me as he used to play craps mostly when we went and if doesn't feel lucky he won't go near one and mostly watches me spend his money!!! Occasionally plays a machine besides me but will only put ten or twenty dollars in and if he doesn't get his money back with a jackpot more than he put in, he will quit and go back to watching me play. Usually I will switch machines and go behind him and hit a jackpot more than likely. Just can't convince him to play another twenty no matter how hard I try. I am very happy he lets me go when I feel like it or get the opportunity and never complains about it to me either. He travels so much in his practice he doesn't like to travel much for pleasure and wants to stay home to play golf. He calls me the "Widow Haynes" with his golfing buddies and he has quite a few and now that he is playing with our grandson each week, between them both he's right but wanting to play with him every chance he can. I don't mind that as this grandson was our first and he didn't have time back in his earlier days to spend so much time with him and spent his extra time, if any, with our children.

I agree with you about writing down stories and have talked with our children and grandchildren about their heritage and when I tell them of some our relatives their mouths open wide and like it is unbelievable. I do have articles about their great great grandfather as we attended a ceremony of a new head stone put in by the Heritage Foundation for the grave sites of Civil War Veterans there and I did get to meet some of the ones from his second marriage there. Our oldest grandson and his son attended that ceremony with us and he received the same papers I did and started a scrap book for his children. All of our children and grandchildren have many pictures of us alone and with the family. I think a ton of pictures, some in books and a whole lot of lose ones too which haven't found their way to photo books.

Had a nice celebration this evening and all have gone home. Youngest daughter, Ricki Cheryl, brought me chocolate coated strawberries which we all came home and had for dessert. Have told them please don't bring me anything to sit on something or hang as there is no space any longer for those. Had a nice day and now time to close down and start getting ready for tomorrow. Still have one bag to unload and put things away.

Hope all here had a great day with family.
