Then the Republicans are fiscally irresponsible. I wasn't pushing that idea either, although often they are. Generally politicians are fiscally irresponsible. How else can live in the Hoover administration in 2009? We can by electing Obama. The Hoover administration was an activist, tax raising, big government administration. It only seemed "small government", but comparison to FDR (who increased government more than any president before or since, with the possibly exceptions of the very early presidents, since they started from such a small baseline its hard to compare)
