For many it will cost them their homes and/or their lifestyle. Mortgages will become unaffordable. Credit card rates will go back to 20%. Loans for new cars? fuhgeddaboudit!

I think you are being generous about 10% interest. I am thinking more like 15% before this is all over. We were over 11% in the 70's and the government was nowhere near as insane then as it is now. We are spending $300 billion a year to lose a war against a third world country.
