Richmont investor Oxbridge increases holdings to 10%

OXBRIDGE BANK AND TRUST SCC -- ACQUISITION OF COMMON SHARES OF RICHMONT MINES INC.

Oxbridge Bank and Trust SCC, located at Chelston Park, Collymore Rock, St. Michael, Barbados, together with joint actors, now owns and controls 2.61 million common shares of Richmont Mines Inc. representing 10 per cent of the issued and outstanding shares of Richmont. The most recent shares acquired were 3,500 common shares representing 0.0134 per cent of the issued and outstanding common shares of Richmont that were acquired on the Toronto Stock Exchange at a price of $4.44 per common share, on May 7, 2009.

The common shares of Richmont are being acquired for investment purposes only. Depending on the evolution of Richmont's business, financial condition, the market for Richmont securities, general economic conditions and other factors, Oxbridge and joint actors may acquire additional securities of Richmont or sell some or all of the securities they hold.
