I was NOT mixing "emotional issues" with Constitutional Issues.

I was presenting my argument on a STRICTLY Constitutional basis.

YOUR answer to me was:

"But, for a direct answer to your question, yes."

So, you're saying that slavery might have carried on "for another decade or so" or even MORE considering how long "Jim Crow Laws" were allowed to prevail in the South for "several decades more" even after the Civil War?

Jim, what really "scares" me about your post is that you seem to "shudder" at the thought that gays could get married, but you seem to think it's O.K. for every jerk that can pass the minimum standards to "carry a gun".

Do you really WANT to have every citizen "armed at all times"????
