Actually that may have been a very racist remark by Tejek considering the context of the argument. The 3 Rs are something that should apply to everyone in school, first and foremost. It appears Tejek thinks 3 Rs are only important to straight white people.

The educational system is failing because there is more concentration on socialization and social experimentation than there is on basic education. The purpose of education is to provide a work force, not to teach kids to have rainbow parades in the streets. The system never gives the kids a chance because they concentrate far too much on social agendas than they do on learning skills, academic and otherwise. It demonstrates a lack of faith in the students to get a long with each other in a real life, real time manner. If the education system which has been experimenting with kids for decades has fallen to such disrepair, why not just go back to teaching...which used to work.
