What happened today is that more were willing to sell at a given price than were willing to buy. That is why the market collapsed and that is what I meant. Of course there was a party to both sides of the transaction. But if you monitored the bid/ask quantities today as I did, you'd realize that sellers were piling up in waves and there was only token resistance on the buy side. There were a lot of sellers who were disappointed when the market was shut down early. The drop was limited to 7% solely because trading was stopped. I'm betting we've got more to run. There is a lot of fear feeding on itself. "Pitiful" positive returns on cash look a lot better than large negative returns on stocks. So I'm going to let the dust settle a bit. The one thing I will say is that QCOM looked relatively strong late in the day.
