Jimmy Buffett Puts Land Shark Beer Name on Dolphins’ Stadium

By Michael Buteau

May 8 (Bloomberg) -- Miami’s Dolphin Stadium was renamed Land Shark Stadium today as part of a partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett and the world’s biggest beer maker.

Buffett’s Margaritaville enterprise includes Land Shark Lager, brewed by Anheuser-Busch InBev NV.

The stadium, which will host the Super Bowl for the fifth time in February, is home for the National Football League’s Dolphins, baseball’s Florida Marlins and the University of Miami football team. The venue has changed its name five times since opening in 1987.

Buffett and new Dolphins owner Stephen Ross are friends, which led to the partnership. The two unveiled the stadium’s new name and logo during a concert today.

Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.
