No doubt i would have been better off holding the balance of shares another day as it turned out. I feel fortunate to have made the money I did out of this stock as I have been pretty unhappy with several management decisions along the way as well the fear of additional foreclosure activity in californa a major market of the company.

I cant say that I have learned anything new from the Stress tests other than misleading information gets leaked on a daily basis and the market seems to intrepret the information on a short term basis much better than I. Still in the case of Wells one has to wonder why Friday a week ago the price of the stock decline, but the price of the may22 calls went up on increased volume. Just one more indicator of the inside information out there.

Also I think that people who are looking to normalized earnings down the road are making mistakes on two fronts.

we dont know how long it will take to work out of this mess. and we dont what the competition will be in a couple of years. My guess is that there will be new competitive entities that will not be stuck with legacy costs of some of these dinosaurs. All in all I would be very happy with a regular weekly improvement in my portfolio just like this one.
