TD,

Good stuff!!! First as a non-expert, I reviewed this link several times. I even compared KOG to another oil stock I have - TLM. The chart in a way describes some of what I have been seeing on my Scottrade volume graphs. A lot of companies going in and a a lot of them getting out. In a way it is nice considering the net effect has been for the share price going up. There is one thing I noticed when comparing my 2 oil stocks though. It appears there are more "sold all", "sold some" with KOG lately as compared to TLM. Also, even though there are some very large blocks of shares companies have been buying of KOG, there are some REALLY major share selloff's too! I wonder more now as to why the shares have been going up like crazy based on the large selloff's. There must be a lot of people like us that are buying into this company.

Next, I listened twice to the audio link you supplied.... Yes you have been keeping me busy!! I did hear a couple of interesting things, but really no guidance as to production value to us as shareholders in the future??? I heard they are developing this oil play and that they have no debt which is great news. They are getting better at drilling in terms of speed and cost savings. What about sales or future sales to do more then keep the books just in the black? What about how much oil will be gathered in a fashion that this company drives a profit and increases our share values?? Is this going to happen this year, next year, 5 years from now??? At some point people are going to want to see numbers saying next quarter we will be producing about ????? barrels of oil/day, then in the second quarter we will produce about ??? barrels per day and so on. It sounds like the gas production is basically on hold due to costs now.

I am sure some people have figured this out since there are some major investors in this company. Is my value just from buying this stock super cheap, and then 5 years form now seeing the share price jump way up at that point? Basically, I am trying to see if this is a very long term investment for me or to see if I should just go with the flow and do a lot of buying and selling of his stock since it is so volatile. It takes some really large up and down swings during almost every trading day (at least as based on percentage).

Again, TD, great stuff! Thanks, Todd

I have been spending hours trying o research other expert opinions of KOG. This includes both upgrades and downgrades. It seems most of the upgrades (which were not many) happened in the 2006-2008 time frames. From what I have been reading, these upgrades were based on basically a few points: 1. Higher oil prices, 2. Belief that theVermillion Basin has a substantial amount of oil and that KOG is in a position to efficiently extract it, 3. That a transition to full oil operations would have been in place by the end of 2009. There are of course other mentions related to their potential gas play too.

There were price targets ranging from $2.50 to $6/share based on these above factors. I have read opposing opinions basically saying that Kodiak Oil has not to date been able to extract this oil in a way that would make it a financially lucrative company. In fact an argument was made that even when oil was at its peak this company was still losing money. Now that oil prices have been lowered - at least this portion of the calculation into KOG value could be lowered. So in MY own limited opinion, I have used old estimates in this higher range and can did my own lower calculations into value. Based on oil price alone, these estimates can be lowered into an area where we thought the chance of this very cheap stock price doubling in the near future looking pretty good. The only thing that is really nagging me is when are they going to be able to actually start extracting oil in much higher volumes? Is it 2009? I don't think so based on what I listened to. I heard there SHOULD be a lot of oil based on their preliminary drilling and that of other companies in the region.

I wanted to check my Scottrade news. The web site is temporarily down now. I have seen a more recent expert ratings of "hold" which was lowered from "buy." I hate using the word "expert" because they seem to WRONG all the time with this company! In fact, many of them are just plain wrong most of the time. In an up market, everyone is a genius though!

Am I missing or completely wrong about something that I have written above??? Todd
