1.3 billion Chinese who are going to intellectally challenge us. That is who we should be responding to. Bush had no idea his cowboy politics will not work with millions of Chinese scientists. That concept has never been alive in the neo con or right wings repertoire. In Obama we have a mna who understands the language of science and education. He directed 100 billion of the stimulous money to education. Thr right wing screamed. That is what I would have done. The Chinese do not want to live in a pollluted country any more than we do. But they also will need lots of food. They are involved in one of the largest projects of all time moving water from the wet south to the arid north through huge irrigation projects. Uphill I think. They are also depleting huge "fossil" aquifers". The do not replenish.
