The most positive way to look at this is that it was just naive stupidity. But then you have to ask yourself why he continues to make the same kinds of mistakes -- the CIA memos, the planned release of photos which serves no purpose other than to stir up anti-American sentiment, dealing with the Castros.

It is all too stupid to believe it is an accident. You can argue the first actions were a simple mistake. But how do you explain the serial incompetence?
