What happened to the old saying "the Dems fall apart and the Reps fall in line"?

Anything.....any little effort......to inject some progressiveness in the GOP is automatically met with anger and scorn. They are very much a cult...with a very nasty underbelly. I continue to believe they are becoming more and more dangerous.
