It shouldn't be too many years before Obama has a liberal Supreme Court as well as both houses of congress. Maybe that will snap the (R)'s out of their tantrum. When we start getting liberal, activist rulings from the court again. By then, the (D)'s will have total control. The only good thing about that is that the (D)'s are a herd of cats compared to the (R) herd of cattle. Obama will have a lot of problems with them. I'm expecting Obama to have a confrontation with them at some point, much as Clinton did with health care, where they failed to back him.
