Powell believed in what he did and he turned out to be wrong on the WMDs as most folks in the world were at that time. Blix was right as were you. Stop bragging about it--past success is no guarantee of future results particularly if reasonable folks like you make the same mistake as bush admin post 9/11---arrogance and hubris.

Whether he did anything bad during Vietnam or not, it doesn't matter.......we do know he sold out this country for Bush's invasion of Iraq. I don't know if you remember....but late 2002/early 2003, the country was not convinced invading Iraq was the best way to go.

Powell didn't "sell out this country". He had access to the same intel as everyone else did. His actions were totally appropriate in the circumstances.

And how anyone could bash him over Vietnam is beyond me.

The worst the man has done is to change from being a R to a D, perhaps voting for a president based on race rather than integrity. While I think it is shame he did it, it was his vote to use as he saw fit.

To start calling his service into question -- in the military and through numerous presidents -- is just shameful. The man is and always will be an American hero. A turncoat when it comes to his party affiliation, but disrespecting his years of service to the country over that is about as ugly as anything I've seen here.
