those in charge have got a LOT of incentive [for their own comfort] to stop air pollution. Sure... and they aren't treated so well when they screw up either, another incentive ... I'm not making any statements on their altruism here.. pragmatism rules :O) The Robber barons in the US weren't exactly altruistic but that doesn't matter.. As to the Mongols and Little Ice Age.. I think that is more a case similar to Alexander.. Rarely can such a disparate and huge group hold together for long... Most of the Mongols horde weren't Mongols ... T O M
