Chrysler is owned by Cerberus, which is closely tied in with the government. There was NEVER any chance Chrysler was going to pay the money back. Cerberus was able, but unwilling, to put more money into Chrysler. It was a taxpayer ripoff from day one, which is why from day one I was saying let Chrysler die.

The loans could have been made, secured by assets. It would have been cheaper and a much better route than the sh$%path the government decided to take.
