Good point. What's nice about Chile is there is little of the grinding poverty that other places have.

Lots of poverty maps here, including hunger.

Large numbers of people whose kids are missing meals can be really dangerous.

Smaller numbers of people who are jealous because they are driving a 11 year old Toyota instead of a new Mercedes can be really grumpy, but if most of them can go home and have a beer or too, there is less to worry about.

My theory is that if absolute poverty and hunger is low, high income inequality is much less of a problem, provided the rich don't flaunt it right next to the poor.
