Oh gosh, Josh....I know what you mean. I don't have any of my records computerized as yet. I've found I much prefer "hunting" than "gathering".....<gg> BUT you must gather info from the living sources as long as you are able...

When I started out on the "hunt" for ancestors years ago, I didn't know to ask my grandparents the PLACES...I asked the names and dates of their people back at least three generations, but didn't realize you could generally find the dates IF you knew the PLACES to look....

Today, I've got LOTS and LOTS of records, but I think now I not only need to gather them into some sort of order, but also need to review all the early information I gathered. I'm finding that now I do understand much more about the people than when I started, and now if I go back, will find many more clues I didn't realize were there already!!!!

Good luck with your search. It's a wonderful hobby, and terribly interesting as far as history goes. Now, you will find it really matters when counties were formed, and what the trails looked like, as well as what the original land looked like...etc.
