<<<'If you tell investors that they can't have liquidity, they cannot sell their stocks and
get cash -- even for half an hour -- that's bad,'' said Hugh Johnson, chief investment
officer at First Albany Corp. ''It reduces confidence in the market.'' >>

And that dipstick has been flapping his gums for as long as I care to remember to buy. I just heard Joe Batapeeeliaaa (sp) with gruntel and he did a dance for 15 min. and still did not say anything that made sence to me. We all know what he has been saying about this market. He didnt look to good this evening, a little green around the gills (g)

Joe, Well the Aussies and NZ are getting the poop knocked out of them - down about 10% already. Should be comming up on 8:00 am in HK, wonder when their market opens? Got a call from some pals in Guam wondering what the heck happened, they are all looking westward and watching the markets fall like dominos. Big monster stone ones like stonehenge. -g- Here comes the blood with a vengeance.

Rubin's comments seem to fit my guess that they won't do much, for the time being. What can they do anyway? I agree with that Hugh Johnson guy - market shutdowns ain't good for confidence if you ever plan on using the money for something real.

Regards, Dan

To: JOE and MOHAN

I have got to send some kudos in your direction for the good
job you have done in the last several months. Primarily for
the way you both have dealt with some complex economic issues.
Forcasting market swings is about impossible but clearly you
were saying this type of violent correction was coming.
The degree of correction, or down market, or rebound is not what
this note is about, yet it is offer a geniune recognition
to your abilty to discuss some complex issues in an overall
consistent manner.
Good going,

HH
