Not in my lifetime. A purge of a group of people larger than say, the KKK is a pretty insane thing for a political party to do. The (D)'s purged the southern racists by supporting racial justice in the sixties, and it led to Reagan and the Bushes. Laudable, but the cost was extreme!

In this case, the (R)'s are purging the SANE people!
