"They don't have much fun, do they? Maybe that's what makes them such miserable people." That judgemental assumption seems a little unfair. I'm certain they would define 'fun' much differently than you would. I betcha they would say your way produces miserable people. I watched the Jerry Springer show and those 'guests' seem like the result of the sort of fun you would identify with, just a guess.
