HR 1207 now has 237 co-sponsors:

I'm happy to say my representative is finally among the co-sponsors. Now, the task is to write my senators to get their support for the related bill in the Senate, S 604. I may also try to help the folks who are working on Barney Frank to allow hearings and an eventual committee vote on HR 1207.

Many of Slider's posts refer to the bankers who have undue influence in government for their own interests. I believe the Federal Reserve central bank is at the root of the problem. HR 1207 will lay bare the dealings of the Fed for the general public to see through a GAO audit. I expect it to be the first step toward abolishing the central bank. Think how much more careful bankers would be if they had no central bank lender of last resort to save them when their speculations go wrong. Then imagine a system where we have 100% reserve banking, where fractional reserve banking is treated as fraud in the courts, as it should.
