Pawlenty vetoed the democrat tax increase. Ball's back in their court. Trying to convince enough republicans to be more "moderate".

Since Pawlenty is a player in the national party so I thought this local drama might have interest to the broader community.

Re: consumer spending isn't about to rebound in a big way.

Consumers may want to spend, but if the breadwinner or both of them are out of a job, they can't spend much. Those that still have some cash, aren't spending much, because frankly, the Obama government right now isn't very reassuring about anything, except their brand of change. Small business must be scared to death, and large business is shaking in their boots, waiting for the long arms to beat their door down as it has done for insurance, banks, financial institutions, and automakers.

Maybe there will be a premium pretty soon on plastic containers with lids --in the old days, people used to bury anything worthwhile in their back yard.
