I would say that Intel has been able to preserve margins. If AMD had a larger market share and the capacity to win most or all of the business at key accounts, that profitability would have been hammered. I certainly think Intel has been carefully trying to keep AMD from ever getting to that point, albeit with as much legal cover as possible.
