Most marketing is based on lies. On the radio these days the annuity salesmen are advertising non-stop ... "My clients make 10% a year when the market goes up and lose nothing when the market goes down!" The problems with that claim are obvious but suckers still fall for it. You know going in that the guy is a liar but he's making a killing anyway.
