well, I thought the idea of AIR (anticipated inflation rally) was just a fanciful product of my sleepy mind that conjures up notions that I am more often surprised by than impressed with.

I just posted the idea because I thought it was a cute acronym and did not really know if it had any merit or not.

Apparently, there may be something to it. Time will tell, but the markets do have a way of anticipating the future, and I don't know many people who think that inflation will not be the result of the newly created credit and money.

One of my clients, who owned an investment business in Chicago, commented that since everyone is expecting it, it probably won't happen, but other than that kind of thinking, the odds are good that inflation reappears again.

And since inflation is a monetary event and not a market event, the health of the economy will not matter in determining when it will occur, as best I understand the issue.
