Peter - you are correct that the value of ships has fallen> I read somewhere that newbuilds are going for 70-80% of the initial prices. That would go a long way explaining the depressed stock prices. On the other hand, some of those companies still have LT charter contracts that have a substantial value in the current environment of depressed prices. That needs to be taken into account as well.
