chinese nationalism?
when provoke, say by the french welcoming that dalai splitist instigator sabouteur :0), some street demonstrations by the young, and to be expected, nothing serious, imo.
else energy is basically positive, channelled towards study, work, savings, investment, etc etc - i.e. the country is busy minding biz

in the back of mind, scores are still on the ledger book, and can cover events for the past 600 years, encompassing east to japan and taiwan, west to iran, north to siberia/mongolia, south to vietnam and s.china sea, but there is neither urgency nor implicit intent, other than in case of taiwan (which, for what ever reason, usa chooses to express intent to intervene with neither foundation nor sustainable capability, and certainly no strategic imperative)

score is simply telling the young what once happened, why, and a caution, to remember

china is busy.

the western press reports on street demonstrations against japan, france, etc etc as each, based on outdated attitudes, does an infraction, and stupidly so, but no one in china treats any of the minor states to be consequential now and into the future.
