I don't know if you are familiar with him but Danny Gans who was a great entertainer in Las Vegas died last week at 52. This guy didn't have an ounce of fat on him and was a work out freak. However he had high BP and a family history of heart disease.

I wish he had found this thread some years back:(

Don't confuse take BP lowering medications with what you really should do to lower your blood pressure.

Blood pressure medications are generally ill advised, have many side affects and some of them, for instance the calcium channel blockers such as Norvasc and Caduet, have such a minimal effect on BP that they are absolutely useless. Their side effects may include but are not limited to, sudden death.

All in all prescription BP medications are a bad idea. I chucked mine when my most serious overpressure was 198/120 and my BP is fine now. (130/80) It was all done naturally.

BP med statistics show that they are not associated with longer life and they do zero to decrease arterial plaque. In fact CCB's may INCREASE plaque on your arteries. Don't take prescription CCB's.
