Hi thread, I've been searching for a new label for myself, since I no longer consider myself a Republican. I don't think Independent is right either, because I'm conservative by nature, but think the Democrats have it right on some key issues like war, renewable energy, and a progressive tax structure. More and more, I've been thinking I may be a Progressive. Anyway, below is a book that I am going to pick up and read: The Progressive Revolution: How the Best in America Came to Be by Michael Lux amazon.com Meanwhile my family has suggested I read the following to get back in touch with my conservative Republican roots. So I'll read both and let the thread know where I stand afterwards... Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto by Mark R. Levin amazon.com

triple btw - Obama is boring now. even my Russian friend who thought he was the hope of the world is now bored with him... he is just another politician. just another liar. so what if he is smart? a lot of people are. he is not brilliant in terms of IQ, Koan. And in terms of living life and dealing with life? to say "you owe something to unions" are empty words because he will let the unions go down and you know it. just like he will let gays go down. and torture be not only not prosecuted but continued. the NY AG in 2012 unless Obama does something dramatic. For now... he could not be more uninteresting. His high flown speech falls flat. He couldn't even inspire college kids tonight.
