The Bassmaster Elites are the best in the world, I'm not there yet. But, I compete against alot of them in the Bassmaster Central Opens like Rick Clunn, Mike McClelland, Edwin Evers, Gary Klien, Todd Faircloth , Ish Monroe, Byran Velvick etc. and some of the FLW guys. I also fish the Bassmaster Weekend Series which is what was cancelled this weekend due to rising lake level...it's a good thing for me because I wasn't on fish they just weren't moved up on beds like they should be? It shoulda been a slugfest? I'll be fishing in Texas Toledo Bend at the end of the month...it's a lot better lake and should do good there. The next Bassmaster Open is on Sam Rayburn in Texas in September, ESPN is owned by Disney (NYSE: DIS ). This is only my third year tournament angling but I've come a long way fast....I'm almost a threat?<g>So far Motorguide (NYSE:BC ) is my only sponsor but I'll probably pick up some more next year.I tried to get Esignal (NYSE: IDC ) to sponsor me but they thought bass fishing was too far from the financial biz???..if I can finish in the top two in either of next two Opens I'll qualify for the Elites. I'm ranked 175th after a poor second day on Toledo Bend in March. I made a bad decision on day 2 and it cost me big time, I should have been in the middle of the pack like I was after day one. I get better after every tournament, I'm very competitive and thats what hooked me on the sport.
