Nonsense....

There was no torture. The Pelosi drama points out the absurdity and hypocrisy of the demolib's who seek to criminalize policies of the prior Admin.

The demise of the GOP has been vastly overstated. And given the continuing amatuer hour at the WH, the GOP will definitely be back.

>> Pelosi is a minor player in this drama..

When the Speaker claims the CIA lied to her, it is not a "minor" event.

"The wingnuts are so rabid to 'get' any Dem they are probably going to make a commission inevitable... and it will further damage the party; maybe kill it."

Yeah, we may get a twofer, lose Pelosi AND get a real investigation of the Bush admin's torture policies! What's NOT to like?

As you said, at best Pelosi is a minority party (at the time) check-off approver of the policy, not an originator, facilitator, implementor or DECIDER on the policy. Those would all he be high level Bushies and military people.

With the current (R) party, all the (D)'s have to do is let them get what their rabid base wants for the (R)'s to look like retarded morons and lose even MORE support.
