Look Buddy....How far back do we have to go until slavery ends...and then again, how far forward from the birth of the slave, and his/her children, grandchildren, greatgrands, etc etc etc..... Each male generation is looked upon as about 25 years....so roughly, we are looking at about 6 generations since the Civil War. These decendants of slaves haven't been slaves for at least 100++++++ years! And if your point is, that once a slave in the family, is always a slave in mentality....well, then....How about the "white slaves" ? I have a white Irish landowner that Cromwell took from Ireland (Cromwell killed most of the landowners when he went into Ireland in 1642 but took some as white slaves).... They were brought to the Barbados...Some were enslaved for years.... Mine escaped eventually and came to Virginia....he married, had children, and prospered. Many of the descendants of his line (o'durgy or known today as Durkee) prosper today... In America, there is NO reason other than sloth that any person can't succeed and prosper. Even our poorest minorities live better today than royalty did in the times of Cromwell and the Kings of England. And you know that!
