The difference is - now I play jazz with other professionals, but I don't depend on the money. That's why I didn't stay with music in the first place - it sucks as a way to make a living. Musicians spend years and years honing their skills and craft, and some have incredible creativity - yet get paid next to nothing. The point of the parable to me is that one needs to come to the conclusion themselves about money and delayed gratification, everyone is different and unfortunately some people never work that issue out
