I'm still interested in the under $40 / above $ 40 contest, taking the above $ 40 side. Though living in San Francisco, being French I'll wager a bottle of French wine. Today should have made it easier to find someone to agree to take the other side (under $ 40) of the bet.

According to traders in Hong Kong, they are severely disheartened by the US market fall today, and expect a "carnage" of perhaps -1000 points loss (about 10%) today. They may officially be in a bear market now. Tomorrow we can expect another hellish open, but hopefully we can rebound in the afternoon. Maybe Greenspan will come to our rescue...

I think this is absolutely ignorant on the part of the markets. Hong Kong falls, so the rest of the world markets fall in reaction...which then makes the US market fall, which the rest of the world sells off in reaction to...causing the US market to fall again...and so on. Just one vicious cycle of stupidity. On thing's for sure...this asian crisis has seriously delayed my time frame for the 50dma to converge with price. But then again, the overall picture has changed little. The market will recover in earnest -- as always.

There are SO many stocks on my watch list that are attractive buys to me now...I never thought I'd see some of these current levels again for a long while, if ever! I'm doing some serious shopping tomorrow...

If your gonna play the market you got to have PATIENCE. I wish more
people thought about the market the way we (Tim Luke, Steve) do.

Jamie,

I did not sell any shares today. Now I am grouped with Tim. The next thing you know, I will own INDV as does Tim <VBG> Good luck to you to Jamie. Cramer does not need luck. He is "GOD".
