Yes I remember it well. I was in an investment group and we had it pegged fairly accurately as well.

What differed then, even though the one-day decline was calamitous, was that our group knew it would come back.

Just not the case today!

You don't know whether you "shorted" or "bought", you don't remember the stock, or even that OE was the Friday before Black Monday. You never mention "call" or "put".
