FWIW, I recently got back from the annual pilgrimage to Amsterdam. Spent my usual month there though I wish it could've been longer. They were actually skating on the canals for a couple of days for the first time in something like 15 years.

Everything's still the same despite the constant press and blogs about how the coffeshops were going to be made members only for Dutch residents as of last October. I've been hearing that for 20 years now. They have done that in border towns like Maastricht but not Amsterdam. There may be fewer coffeeshops but they're still quite plentiful and open to anybody 18+.

Funny, they outlawed mushrooms a few years ago after some tourists jumped out windows and ran in front of trams but the "smart shops" still display them for sale on busy streets like Leidsestraat only now they're called "truffles." At least no more tourists have been killed since they changed the name.

Hope everybody here is well...
