You're right....it is "Definitely a provocative article". I think that all of us, in our heart of hearts, wonder if that could happen here in OUR America. If it ever does, I think it would be because some sleeper cells from foreign shores could awaken and cause havoc...but honestly, I believe Americans, no matter the stripe, would overcome them.

I think the only way our country could be "taken over" would be by either of two methods....
1) A massive hit to the country, either by MEP's or bio weapons everywhere, and even then who would want our country then....or
2) From within. We've all wondered how Hitler took over Germany and fooled so many millions of people. Many of us are starting to realize how it was done, and aren't liking what we see.....

<< One of these days a truly charismatic individual is going to walk out of the heartland of America and point out that the Declaration of Independence has never been repealed and that it *requires* all citizens to rise up against an oppressive government. With the current attitude toward our government and the people who populate it, a massive groundswell of support for throwing the current crop to the dogs and starting over again might not be so difficult.>>

As you said, a most provocative article.

To me, the most fascinating part, was that this article appeared just 3 months before the events postulated actually occurred. Except that they occurred at the ballot box in the elections of November 1994, rather than with arms, as conservatives, led by the "truly charismatic" Newt Gingrich, swept much of the left out of power and seized control of both houses of Congress.
