One reason is its hard to get fired and they don't have to work too hard.

But it wouldn't matter if you were in a high tax Euro country. You could just live on the dole. Have to wonder why 90%+ Europeans work? Yes, isn't that interesting? When one of my German friends couldn't get a job [as an architect], he went nuts. All he wanted to do was work. It took him a year and he had to move to London to find a job. His reaction was like any American....with one exception.....he knew he could draw unemployment for two years as opposed to the six months we get. That relieved some of the financial pressure and anxiety. We have been fed a tall boat load of nonsense about Europe by the right in this country. Most everything I heard about Europe and Europeans growing up has proven to be untrue or a gross exaggeration.
