Well, bmillermn, it will be interesting to see how your trade eventually pans out.

So far, since early March '09, both shares have maintained an upward price trend, although USB has fallen back in the last week.

More significant could be Warren Buffett's recent comments at his AGM regarding both companies ....

"I would love to buy all of US Bancorp(USB) or I would love to buy all of Wells Fargo(WFC), if we were allowed to do it."

And ...

"Buffett again singled out Wells Fargo for particular praise, calling it a "fabulous" bank that "will be a lot better off in a couple of years than if none of this had happened."

Recalling that Wells shares fell below $9 earlier in the year, he said at that price, "If I had put all my net worth in one stock, that would be the stock."

However, I'd like to read that you make a profit on your trade, so let's hope both companies oblige and "cross prices", after which they can resume whatever direction their fundamentals direct !!

bmillermn, I forgot to ask, what time span do you have in mind for the price crossing to take place ?
