I actually think that Obamatopia resembles a socialist dictatorship with all of the characteristics that you describe.

What I do think is important is for the conservatives to focus on what is important, and that is getting government out of our lives. If the religious right didn't have such a strong influence on the republican party, i believe that people who are pro-choice, pro-marrywhomeveryouwant, but who are also fiscally conservative (read: "responsible") will swing over to the light.

There is a place to meet in the middle. If we take away government sponsorship of abortion at the same time as saying "this is an individual choice that the government has no voice in", I think it would address most of the concerns of most of the people. The fact is, if someone is pro-life, they should not be forced to support abortion through their taxes. The minute our tax dollars are used to pay for abortions, then every pro-lifer has the right to complain.

adam smith's invisible hand is clenching into an iron fist.

i don't know how bad it's going to be, but it is going to be bad.

we've got a bunch of people voting out of emotion rather than principle. that's a recipe for disaster.

this government is going to fall of its own weight. it is unfortunate that the price of the lesson will be so high. because we were born and raised in relative freedom, i think we will reverse course before the very worst happens. but i won't say for sure. no one can know.

for a look into how bad things could get try googling kim jong il and atrocities. that guy is a true monster. he's a sadistic murdering tyrant. for sheer ugliness, i think he even puts pol pot to shame. it's a fate that could await us, but i don't think it will get that far. we're too used to freedom.

when we finally get this thing reversed, i hope we take steps to protect what protects us.. the constitution.
