Yes, people with clean police records are less likely to kill someone if they have a concealed carry permit, but I don't think that's a real good reason to pass more and more of them out.

Its not specifically a good reason to give more and more of them out, but its shows a lack of reason not to do so.

The good reason to keep giving them out (to people with clean records, I'm not suggesting passing them out at random) is that you increase deterrence of crime and increase people's ability to defend themselves against crime. Also getting rid of the roadblock some places put in place against them amounts to an increase in personal freedom.
