Anything that cuts down your consumption of wheat and corn is good. First thing I tell heart patients to do is to cut out wheat, corn and sugar. Wheat increases Insulin resistance, raises blood sugar and increases the atherogenic part of LDL, the small dense stuff. Other than that, it's fine.

Yes, whole grain is better than white flour. But only a step in the right direction.

The American Heart Association is a great outfit, but the 20 mil a year they get from the food industry for pushing "healthy grains" will be looked back on someday as a horror.
