But the primary goal of a chapter 11 filing is still to create/craft a VIABLE BUSINESS. Which is why the union should take more of a hit, that would help the business to be viable going forward. Directly by lowering costs and increasing labor flexibility. And to a smaller extent indirectly by not putting the unions and other politically favored junior creditors ahead of senior creditors thus likely increasing the companies future borrowing costs.
