Alright Buddy...you tell me....what exactly is your question and/or your point? Here's what you asked....

But that avoids any discussion of CHILDREN (sometimes several generations of progeny) who found themselves unlucky enough to be born into slavery... surely they had done nothing to be cursed with permanent servitude?

What years are you speaking of? Anything in the last 100+ years? I know of NO slave who was born in the US in the last 150 years. And any slave who was a slave in 1865 was freed in 1865.

So there were no slave children born into slavery after that, at least here in the US.
