To: Elroy Jetson who wrote (202924 ) 5/18/2009 10:43:31 PM From: Skeeter Bug Read Replies (4) | Respond to of 306849 elroy, what you seem to not understand is that you don't get what you pay for with government other than handouts to the politically in crowd. perhaps that is you, but it isn't most tax payers. for example, CA school enrolment is down over the last 10 years and they get 2x the money compared to 10 years ago. that's more than 2x spent per student. where does it go? we still have an approximate 50% drop out rate in our biggest school district and some estimates put state wide drop out rates at 30%. in any case, drop outs haven't significantly decreased in spite of 2x spent per child. the LA times recently did a story where the school district didn't even fire a teach for sticking his hand into the pants of a female student. so what did we get? 1. teachers paid 25% more than the 2nd place state. 2. legislatures paid 35% more than the 2nd place state. 3. $2.7 million spent to further increase taxes. 4. absolutely $0 spent out of pocket for medical expense - no deductible, no copay, no nothing. 5. 90% pensions for teachers with 30 years in the system - they retire at 52 and 53 and we pay 90% of their salary for the rest of their lives. the prison guard's union and all the other unions and special interests make out big, too. i don't remember the citizens demanding these "services." the citizens get screwed. government doubles while legal citizenship decreased. do you see 2x services? we are getting "serviced," but not in the way we should. perhaps you are part of the pork system. taxing the private sector unemployed to pay 90% pensions for people who can't be laid off is immoral. yes, the service workers union has an agreement where nobody will be laid off - must be nice. i guess their bribes paid off.freerepublic.com there are two classes of people in CA - the private class who have to work and pay to support the government class and the government class who can't get laid off, get fat pensions, get AAA health care benefits and who soak the private class during bad times. you see this as good for america. i see it as evil and cause for revolution. there is a place for government, but once government has been bought and paid for by special interests and only sociopathic liars are allowed to be seriously considered for office, the people have to revolt. and we are. we will run over arnold and the legislature. we will recall all the lying SOBs who sold out the unemployed in this state and who tell them "your problems (private sector tax payers) are not our (the government class) problems." they were giving themselves raises last year when unemployment started sky rocketing! sociopaths have no shame.
