FPG, You cannot damn her without more than simply stating "she skipped out on the meetings."

This above is interesting. Some how or another it is assumed that she is obligated to be polite even showing deference. I take it as a show of strength. Back home, it is playing/played well to/by the local choir. "Neelie the Terrible, just so rude... tweedle dee...tweedle.duh"

Neelie Kroes the Decider listened to the AMD Complaints but when it came time to listen to Intel's answer she skipped the hearing. The Decider had already decided.

"Verdict first, trial later" said Kroes the Decider.

You cannot damn her without more than simply stating "she skipped out on the meetings." All I see is innuendo (from outuendo) against Kroes... The Intel folk have no problem convicting HER without evidence that comes anywhere near Elmer's standards

innuendo? Oh no. Please don't bring the Italian suppository mafia into this....
But you do have a point. Despite her public jokes, rhetoric, or whatever, she is supposed to be a professional, and should be knowledgeable about what it takes to impose a judgement, a fine, AND survive an appeal from a deeply monied company with the requisite army of lawyers. To think otherwise is foolish.
It's like people that attack Presidents of opposite parties for being dumb; while politician at the national level may mangle a word or two or advocate positions that you find counterproductive, they are by no means stupid, lazy, etc.

FPG, > Did she have more important things to attend to?

Apparently the case was important enough for Neelie the Terrible to impose the largest fine ever by the EU. She even said that she could have raised the fine.

If that is but a "trivial matter" to her, then may the EU markets shiver with fear ...
